About

One focus of this blog is the application of physics — predominantly undergrad-level physics, and whenever possible freshman physics — to real-world problems.

Another focus here is on students (or others) who are interested in this physicsy stuff and who may be vulnerable to the atmosphere of white male (,hetero, abled, etc.) supremacy (“WMS”) that seems overpowering in these fields (at least in the U.S.). For example: people of color, women, disabled people, members of sexual minorities.

I want to encourage questions and requests. Subject to time constraints, I’m happy to look at any technical problem that seems interesting. I have a photonics, electronics and materials science bias in my own technical background, but I’m willing to be pulled elsewhere.

This is a place for thinking, collaboration, and some tutoring if you need it. But I won’t do your homework for you.
